“NEW CHITOSE AIRPORT PITCH 2022” will be held during the 9th edition of New Chitose Airport International Animation Festival (3-6 November 2022). The purpose of the effort is to encourage Japanese directors and producers residing in Japan to seize chances to promote and work internationally and to foster a rich animation culture. Commentators will include producers and others from Japan and abroad, providing an opportunity for Pitch participants to connect with and showcase their work broadly to an international network.
The festival office will conduct the initial selection of the submitted projects, and the project speakers selected will give a presentation during the festival (open to the public and streamed online with English interpretation).
We would welcome “Pitch Commentators” who will give and offer their views and opinions on the participating projects. Producers who are interested in new original projects by outstanding Japanese artists, please check the requirements below and contact us (no honorarium will be paid).
☞Seeking Commentators:
(1) Producers wishing to participate as commentators are invited to contact the Festival Office with the following information.
Address to: Tomoko Ono (Chief Director) pitch@airport-anifes.jp
1. The purpose for participating as a commentator (e.g., co-production, just out of interest, and so on)
2. Your bio
(2) Process and Schedule
Proposal materials on each participating project will be sent to the commentators in advance so that they can comment on the projects they like. The speakers will make project presentations based on the feedback received at the “New Chitose Airport Pitch 2022” during the Festival. The presentations can be viewed onsite and also an online viewing of recorded video with an English interpretation will be available for a limited period of time after the festival. You are invited to contact directly the projects you would be interested in funding after watching the presentations.
Early to mid-October: We will send you a set of materials on the participating projects.
Week of 17 October: You will make comments on the projects that you like, or are interested in, in the format provided by the festival (any feedback, additional information you’d like to know, advice, questions, etc.). The comments received will be passed on to the participants prior to the festival.
During the Festival: The presentations will be recorded, translated into English, and will be available for online viewing later for a certain period of time. We will notify you as soon as the video is released.
We very much look forward to welcoming all producers who are interested in new and original work by outstanding Japanese filmmakers!
