Call for Entries for NEW CHITOSE AIRPORT GIF AWARD 2022
Organizer / Operator
The New Chitose Airport International Animation Festival Executive Committee, Festival Office
Objective
“GIF animation” is a visual genre with an autonomous style and aesthetic, not a subgenre subordinate to “animated film”. “NEW CHITOSE AIRPORT GIF AWARD” sets out to proactively deliver expressions unique to “GIF animation” that are not bound by the conventional evaluation framework of the Short Film category, and at the same time, to open the festival door to a wider range of animation creators, not limited to filmmakers.
We hope that “NEW CHITOSE AIRPORT GIF AWARD” will serve as a stepping stone for animation creators other than fimmakers to become more familiar with the festival and actually participate in it.
